WHAT STEEL CANNOT HOLD

Roderick Owen, a contemporary French sculptor, grounds his artistic practice in the act of wresting a presence from steel.

Each work is born from the confrontation between the sculptor’s gesture and the resistance of steel, as a presence already held within the material is wrested free.

His works take the form of steel stilettos that transcend their original purpose.

Each presence asserts its own architecture, tension, and balance.

Only presence remains.
